Location Gallipoli, Suvla
Entry Fire trenches N.E. of Hill 70 Draft In early hours of morning draft of 2 officers and 61 men arrived mostly details of (wounded etc. recovered) belonging to original Battalion. Valuable reinforcements especially in n.c.o's of whom numbers had gone to hospital. Patrol bombs T. Trench Patrols of 1 officer 2/Lt O'BRIEN and 2 others went on patrol to new Turkish trench. They encountered small covering post and when challenged Lt O'Brien threw bomb into Turkish trench and another at sentry who had fired point blank at 15 yards range. He reached our trenches followed by a burst of rifle and machine gun fire which lasted 15 minutes.
