| Entry | Fire trenches 2 of the sick awaiting removal on stretchers which did not arrive from ambulance died and then 3 others were found dead from exhaustion in the trenches. Frost began to dry trenches and conditions improved, fires being started and cookhouses in good working order. Extra issues of rum during these days of bitter cold were much appreciated. Unfit men still awaiting embarkation. |
