Regiment 5th Wiltshire
Location Gallipoli, Lala Baba
Entry Reserve trenches Work on the trenches continued - mainly constructing "dug-outs." Considering that only about 120 men out of the 380 men in the battalion are available for trench work, the progress made is excellent. In addition to the trench work two machine gun classes are being held for the men and one class (by the Brigade M.G. Officer) for officers. Also classes in bomb throwing, entanglement of wire and signalling are being conducted. At 2p.m Major Gen. F.S. Maude CB, CMG, DSO. Commanding 13th Division inspected the trenches occupied by the battalion.
