Entry | 1.3.19 to 31.3.19 The Battalion remained at Port Said doing garrison duties. Numbers diminished rapidly up to the 22nd, but the outbreak of trouble in Egypt resulted in 207 or our own men and 224 men of various units being sent to re-inforce the Bn. They arrived on 25th and are being kept as two additional companies to avoid upsetting organisation etc. SUMMARY Strength of Bn on 31st March (exclusive of men temporarily attached for duty) 34 Officers 395 OR. 245 OR proceeded for demobilisation during the month but of these as stated above, 207 returned to the unit. SPORTS The Football Team lost to 262 Bde RFA in the 1st round of the EEF Competition. Our goalkeeper (CSM WHATLEY) was picked to go to England. Pte COLE secured a place in the EEF Cross Country Team. The Hockey competition has been spoilt by the toubles in Egypt and we have got into the final without playing a single match. |
