Regiment 1/4th Wiltshire
Location Egypt, Kantara
Entry Xmas Day, though it fell short of Indian standards, was observed with considerable ceremony. We were woken at Reville by the Band who played several Carols very nicely. During the morning a hockey match was played between officers and men, the officers winning 2 -1. The Commanding Officer went round dinners (which had been supplemented by a contribution from the PRI, a small collection from the men and a free issue of beer) and wished all ranks the compliments of the Season amidst cheers. In the afternoon a football match was played between the right and left half battalions, the right half winning 1-0.
