Entry The day was spent in packing up camp and at 1730, No 2 Coy marched down to the Station as loading party and at 1745 the transport augmented for the occasion by 6 wagons (G5) from the DAC moved off. 1930. The Station was clear and loading commenced. The Bn less No 2 Coy marched out of camp. 2300. The first train left LUDD carrying Bn HQ No 1 and 4 Coys, the Transport and the QM's establishment and all the regimental baggage. 4.12.18 - 0100. Second train lefy LUDD with No 2 and 3 Coys on board under Capt Plew. 1330. The first train arrived at KANTARA after an uneventful journey and by 1430 the train was cleared. 4 motor lorries were allotted us for transport so No 1 Coy remained at the station as loading party while No 4 Coy marched straight to our area to pitch camp, where they arrived at 1400. 1530. The second train arrived, and all baggage being now loaded the Coys marched up to Camp after having a cup of tea at the Station. 1730. By this time the Camp was pitched and every one had settled in. Our Camp was situated at about Kilo 4 1/2 on the DUEIDAR Road, with 165 Coy QVO Sappers and Miners on one side and the 232 ITMB on the other.
