Entry Lieut Colonel A Armstrong assumed Command of the Battalion. 1415. Patrol. Major C G Bennett, Lieut E J M Wyld, Lieut E T Evans and 18 OR of 1/4th Wilts Regt proceeded to KULEH for purposes of investigating closed houses and salving ammunition nearby. Accompanying the Patrol were Lieut Tainton SAFA, for the purposes of locating forward gun positions and Lieut Coveney and 12 OR, RE locating and measuring cisterns. In the Courtyard of one house, heavily barred, were found 9 heavy rails, 27 sleepers and pieces of timber 6" x 2". Several houses were entered, in one of which was found a suite of furniture of European make. In the Wadi SW of KULEH were salved 13,000rds SAA, a number of shell cases in carriers, and one live shell. Eight cisterns were located in and around KULEH. 1715. The Patrol returned to our lines.
