Entry Battalion remained in the same position. The front was quiet except for registration by enemy batteries. At 9pm the 58th Composite Battalion was formed, composed of remnants of this Battalion, the 9th ROYAL WELSH FUSILIERS and 9th WELCH, under the command of Lieut Col GFE RAPSON. Strength of Battalion, about 14 Officers and 460 Other Ranks. The Battalion continued the digging of Support and Reserve lines, occupying same and thinning the Front line as soon as completed.
