Location Belgium, Trenches
Entry Enemy artillery carried out their usual morning shoot at about 5.15am but soon ceased. Enemy aeroplanes very active all day, observation being very good. Some low flying EA unsuccessfully engaged by rifle and Lewis Gun fire, but prevented from crossing our lines. Battalion was relieved by 19th Manchester Regt and proceeded to HEDGE ST area. Relief complete by 7.30pm. Lieut Col RMT GILLSON DSO proceeded to England on duty. Capt AJ SAMUT, MC assumed command of the Battalion
