Entry Quiet day. Enemy artillery unusually inactive. As usual big parties were at work on various improvements during the night. 2/Lieuts EDWARDS ans IVISON and 22 other ranks entered the enemy lines at about 1.0am and proceeded some 300 yards behind their front line; moving due north on a road, eventually encountered 4 enemy posts: attacking one they were subjected to a heavy fire from the other three. After killing three Huns with revolvers and inflicting other casualties with bombs the party returned to our line. Our casualties are two missing believed killed to date, & one wounded. Lieut GB RIMMINGTON rejoined from leave. 30 OR joined from ROUEN.
