Entry Battn HQ was shelled with small guns from 10am until 1pm. Enemy artillery was more active all day. Between 7pm and 8pm he shelled TORREKEN FARM with 4.2s and whizz-bangs but did little damage. Heavy bombardments continued all night on the front North of us being preparatory to our attack at dawn. Capt AJ SAMUT, MC rejoined from leave and took over command of "D" coy. Major AVP MARTIN left to take temporary command of 19th (S) Bn MANCHESTER Regt.
