| Entry | Capt & Adjt HB JONES returned from England and re-assumed his duties vice Lieut LC MAKEHAM. Battalion moved up to the Support trenches at 5pm: relief complete by 8pm. After relief the Battalion found a working party of 300 and proceeded to put 8 baby elephants in the "Y" line [see note for 5 Oct 1917] .This task was completed by midnight without a casualty. |
