Location Belgium, Trenches
Entry Enemy artillery active in the early morning, but all quiet by dawn. Bright day - our aeroplanes very active. At dusk, after slight rain, the Battn relieved the 19th Manchesters in the right sub-sector, disposition of companies, left to right being "A", "B" front line, "C", "D" support. Whilst placing his platoon in position in the sentry line 2/Lieut WC SHAW was killed. Relief complete about 11pm.
