Entry Battalion paraded at 6.30am and practised the attack on the training ground. Arrived back in billets at 12 noon. Again paraded at 9.15pm and marched to the training ground for practice in detail of the forthcoming operation. Tea was served to the men at 1.30am, and the attack commenced at 3.40am. Everything was carried out as if it was the real thing, the whole Division co-operating. Arrived back in billets at 6.30am where breakfasts were served. The Battalion held its Annual Sports Meeting in the afternoon, commencing at 2pm, and favoured by fine weather, a very enjoyable time was spent. Brigadier General GD GOODMAN, CMG, commanding 21st Infantry Brigade, and Staff were present. 2nd YORKSHIRE Regt. won the Inter Battalion Relay Race, the 2nd WILTSHIRE Regt finishing second and 19th MANCHESTER Regt third. "B" company was declared champion company with 18 points. "A" and "D" companies each obtained 16 points, and "C" company 5. The prizes were distributed by the Commanding Officer, Lieut Colonel RMT GILLSON,DSO. The band of the 19th MANCHESTER Regt was present, and gave a very good performance.
