Entry Battalion paraded at 1.30pm in fighting order and marched to trenches via BASSEUX, BEAUMETZ, WAILLY, halting at the crucifix. Tea was issued to the men, also rations, bombs, flares and entrenching tools. Battalion left crucifix at 7.15pm and marched to trenches East of MERCATEL, where they relieved the 2nd Royal Scots Fusiliers and 17th Manchester Regt. "A" and "B" companies taking over the line of outposts, and "C" and "D" trenches in the rear. Relief complete by 1.0pm.
