Location France, Arras and Achicourt
Entry The remainder of the Battalion (HQ "B" & "C" coys) moved to billets in ACHICOURT, while "A" and "D" coys moved to the trenches, relieving the 19th Manchester Regt, who took over our old billets in ARRAS. The front line was held by 1 1/2 platoons of "A" coy, with 1 1/2 platoons in support line. "D" company held the reserve line, and "B" company was ordered to hold itself in readiness to occupy the ACHICOURT DEFENCES in case of alarm. "C" company found carrying parties. Relief complete by 2.0pm. Lieut Col RMT GILLSON, DSO rejoined from leave and re assumed command of Battalion, and Major AVP MARTIN reassumed duties of Second - in - Command.
