War Diary

1917-01-02
Regiment 2nd Wiltshire
Location France, Bailleulmont
Entry The Battalion relieved the 18th Bn King's Liverpool Regt in the trenches. Relief of centre coy was delayed owing to the centre communication trench being unpassable, having fallen in and relief had to be carried out after dark over the open. Relief was reported complete at 6.30pm. The trenches were in an awful condition, a greater part of the front line and communication trenches having fallen in, owing to the very wet state of the ground. 2/Lieut AC CLAKE, & 2/Lt EL HALL joined from ROUEN.
