Regiment 2nd Wiltshire
Location France, Trenches
Entry A and B coys relieved by 3 coys 19th Battn Manchester Regt. C and D remain in same position. B coy took over four more trenches on left of D coy. A coy go out to Headquarters in Battn reserve. Brigade frontage shortened. Enemy shelled BAILLEULVAL heavily with 5.9 guns about 7.30pm until about 8.30pm. We retaliated at 9.15pm on villages of RAMSART and HENDECOURT. Apparently quite a good retaliation as enemy did not reply. Otherwise all quiet on our front. 2/Lieut PP CLAY and five other ranks left for leave to England.
