| Entry | Same routine. In the afternoon at 2PM the Battalion held a sports meeting at MOUNT BERNENCHON. Proceedings were favoured with good weather and the ground was in good condition. Among those present were General Sir RCB HAKING,KCB commanding 1st army. Major General JS SHEA CB DSO commanding 30th division, and Brig General RW MORGAN commanding 21st Infantry brigade. Nearly all arms were represented by officers ncos and men. There were two open events -" 1 mile flat " Staff Sergt PRINCE RAMC headquarters 1st army coming in first, and the "inter Battalion relay race" the WILTSHIRE team getting 1st prize. As regards points 'D' company was declared champion company, the others in the following order 'B' 'C' 'A'. Brigadier General RW MORGAN presented the prizes. |
