| Entry | Quiet night. Companies('B', 'C'& 'D' in the front line 'A' in reserve) improving trenches and putting out wire entanglements. From 3PM to 5PM the trench mortar batteries and artillery carry out a fire scheme, and 'B' & 'C' companies stand clear of their trenches for that period and take cover in GIVENCHY cellars etc. Enemy retaliates almost entirely with Minenwerfer which he fires in plenty. One of our own trench mortars falls short and blows in REGENT ST (boyeaux) no casualties. |
