Entry In the morning the 90th Bde make an attack on the northern half of the wood successfully, and eventually relieve us in the southern half, the Battalion moving back to its old assembly positions GILLSON STREET where 'A' coy, which has also been relieved joins up from the MALTZ HORN area. During the whole of our stay in the Trones Wood the Battalion was bombarded with heavy shells and considerable damage was done. In this action the following casualties were suffered:- Killed- CAPT FR MUMFORD, 2/LT PJ POSENER, 2/LT GHE VIDLER, 2/LT AJ HILL, 2/LT HG DEHN and 28 OR. Wounded- LT COL RMT GILLSON, 2/LTs MSG BIGWOOD,JC BADGLEY, FT YOUNG, HR HICKS, HFN POWELL, JG FRITH, M POLLITZER (INTERPRETER) and 186 OR, missing- 14 OR. In the evening the Battalion moves to COPSE VALLEY just south of Perronne road about equidistant from CARNOY and MARICOURT.
