| Entry | Bombardment of enemy still in good progress. Enemy retaliation still very weak. Intense bombardment at 4.30pm followed by a smoke barrage at 5.14pm is carried out drawing small reply from the enemy who shell the area of OXFORD and CAMBRIDGE COPSES. The Battalion is relieved by the 19th Manchester Regt and withdraws to the same positions occupied on June 28th. |
