Entry 'V' Day Bombardment of enemy works proceeds. Still little or no retaliation. Our aeroplanes advance over enemy's lines and destroy two hostile captive balloons within sight of our trenches. Two patrols sent out at night, one lead by 2/Lieut WB WOOD and the other by Sergt SLY discover enemy's wire entanglements destroyed in places and complete in others. A party from 2/BEDFORDS Regt on our right and a party from 18th Division on our left make raids on enemy trenches in front of their lines. On the right they kill some Germans take one prisoner & reconnoitre hostile trenches. On left they encounter no Germans but reconnoitre the enemy's lines.
