Battn crossed River SAMBRE by broken bridges at BERLAIMONT at 05.15.hours but were unable to go forward owing to heavy machine gun fire from AULNOYE. Battn proceeded to outflank enemy who withdrew from AULNOYE. Battn went forward and established a line on high ground E of AULNOYE and AYMERIES.
