Entry	(15th - 19th) Trench system. 12.00. Patrols from the posts established on the 14th inst pushed forward. The Northern Patrol under 2nd Lieut S G Wall, proceeded around Northern edge of THIEPVAL WOOD and reached R 25 a 95 but was forced to withdraw through THIEPVAL WOOD to railways embankment at Q 23 b 9.1. Southern Patrol under 2nd Lieut S T Dowson proceeded around Southern edge of THIEPVAL WOOD but was cut off by the enemy and the whole Patrol captured. Casualties: Killed Officers Nil. O R One. Wounded Officers Nil. O R 4. Missing Officers 2nd Lieut Dowson. O R 22.
