Information received that the enemy was withdrawing from his position and that the situation was to be at once cleared up on the Bde Front. 2 Fighting Patrols under 2nd Lieut S T Dowson and 2nd Lieut S G Wall at once pushed out with the THIEPVAL VILLAGE R 260 and the Crucifix at N20 C O 2 ( Map Sheet 27D SE), as objectives. Patrols were heavily fired upon from Cross Roads at Q23D.5.0. (Map sheet 57D SE). Posts were established at Q23c8.8. And Q24c 3.6. (Map Sheet 57S SE). |
