Entry | A Bde attack practice was carried out during the morning from an imaginary assembly line just E of LOGEAST WOOD against three objectives, the final objective being the railway line running from ACHIET LE GRAND to COURCELLES. The Bde attacked upon a three Battn front: all four Coys of each Battn were in the front line upon a platoon frontage, and had been previously organised into three platoons. The leap frog method was followed, the first platoon capturing the first objective, the second then passing through the first and taking the second objective. The creeping barrage moved at the rate of 100 yards in 3 minutes but rested for a longer time upon each objective. After the capture of the final objective posts were pushed out in front E of the railway. |
