Entry The Battn remained at the Camp near ACHIET LE GRAND during the week 4th - 10th and training continued upon the usual lines each day. Rapid loading practice and Steady Drill were included in each morning's programmes and on the 4th two new classes were formed which were held throughout the week. Tump line and Lewis gun. The NCO's and men who had be elected by Coys to form carrying parties in the event of active operations were given instruction daily in the use of the Tump Line: the Lewis Gun Class consisted of the partially trained Lewis Gunners of the Battn. The training, too, of the rifle grenade sections continued throughout the week, the Nos 23 & 24 grenades being chiefly employed. The Coys trained as follows: B Coy fired upon the range near ACHIET LE PETIT: there was a route march for D Coy to BIHUCOURT. For A Coy & C Coys there were for the first half of the morning musketry instruction, physical training and bayonet fighting. During the latter part of the morning these two Coys practised the attack upon ground E of LOGEAST WOOD.
