Entry During the early morning of the 5th the hostile artillery was active upon front and support trenches of the 10th Cheshire Regt and attention was also paid to the vicinity of the Battn HQ. A dugout which 2nd Lieut ES C Parsons MC was occupying was blown in and he was partially buried and badly bruised and had to be evacuated. Two parties each of 40 other ranks, were furnished from the 10th Cheshire Regt for work in DUN ELM and BOLTON AVENUES. These parties were employed for raising and cleaning duckboards and digging a drain underneath the duck boards.
