Entry (18th - 22nd) During this period the Battn remained in Bde Reserve at GORRE CHATEAU. One Coy was required daily for providing working parties for the 130th Coy RE for the Town Commandant, and for cleaning up the Chateau billets and their vicinity. For the other three Coys, training parades were possible : short ranges were available for rifle firing and Lewis Gun practice. A Bombing Ground was used for giving instruction in the firing of rifle grenades. On the 21st a Church of England Parade service was held. In the afternoon the Battn's "second eleven" defeated the 130th Fld Coy RE at 'Soccer' by 6 goals to Nil. On the evening of the 22nd a Battn concert was held. On the afternoon of 23rd the Battn relieved the 10th Cheshire Regt in the line. There were no casualties during relief.
