Entry On the night of 30/31st the Battn moved to the forward concentration area in the neighbourhood of BELGIAN CHATEAU, remaining there until 8a.m. on the morning of the 31st. Zero hour for the attack was 3.50 and at zero plus 4 the Battn moved up to the big dug out at HALF WAY HOUSE, moving by platoons followed up by the remainder of the Bde. The Battn remained in the dugout during the night of the 31st/1st. A working party was supplied during the day to assist in digging out field guns which had been blown up by hostile shell fire [signed] S S Ogilvie, Lieut Colonel Comdg: 1st Battn Wilts Regt.
