Entry | (13th - 17th) Another day's Rifle and Lewis Gun firing practice was carried out on a TILQUES range on the 13th. On the 14th, 15th, 16th,17th Battn and Bde Training was carried out. This included Bde Assembly by night (marching in Coys), a night bivouac and the practice of the Battn and Bde Attack. The ground was previously mapped out to resemble as closely as possible the actual ground that had been allotted to the Bde in view of future operations NE of WULVERGHEM. The farthest objective was the task of the Battn, and to reach this it was necessary to pass through two Battns, the 3rd Worc Regt and the 8th LN Lancs Regt who were responsible for the capture of the enemy's front and immediate Support lines, and through the 10th Cheshire Regt whose task was to capture the enemy's second line. Photographs of the Battn were taken on the 15th. On the 15th reinforcements, 18 other ranks, joined the Battn. |
