Entry | (7th - 12th) Throughout the week platoon and company training was carried out on the Bde Training Area near QUELMES : one day was entirely devoted to rifle and Lewis Gun firing practice upon the TILQUES range. The mornings work included bayonet fighting, the training of bombing and rifle bombing Sections, the practise of the Attack at first by platoons, then by Coys, introducing movements in "snake" formation and extended order, great attention being paid to the parts played by the different Sections, Lewis gunners, Rifle bombers etc. The training of Signallers was carried out independently throughout the week, particular attention being given to instruction in "visual". |
