Entry | (5th - 6th) The day was largely occupied with preparations for moving into the LE TOUQUET Sector. B Coy was brought back to the Battn in lorries from ST MARIE CAPPEL where their Coy had been through a Musketry Course. Signallers, Lewis Gunners and Snipers proceeded in advance of the Battn, in order to take over their positions by daylight. The remainder of the Battn left STEENTJE by Coy parties between 10p.m. and 11p.m. and the relief began at about 3a.m. and was not complete until 6a.m. There was on casualty in D Coy, Cpl Payne, F C, wounded. The Battn took over the whole of the LE TOUQUET Sector from the River LYS to the N of GAP F, S of PLOEGSTEEERT WOOD. The 8th LN Lancs Regt was the Battn Support, and the 10th Cheshire Regt the Battn Bde Reserve. The 3rd Worcs Regt had moved on the morning of the 5th to ST MARIE CAPPEL. Reinforcement, 3 men joined the Battn for duty on the 5th. |
