Entry (1st - 10th March) During this period the Battn remained on the MONT DES CATS area and the training of Coys and Specialists was carried out daily. The usual morning's programme included Physical training, bayonet fighting, bomb throwing and musketry. Regular firing practice was held upon improvised rifle ranges on the slopes of MONT DES CATS hill. Battn Route Marches took up two mornings in the week, and on the 9th a long Bde March was held. Coy schemes were carried out upon a Bde training area E of BERTHEN and the attack in open warfare was practised. In the afternoons inter platoon football was played but it was impossible owing to lack of opportunity to complete the competition. In a rugger match against the 8th LN Lancs Regt on the 4th, the Battn was defeated. On the 4th a draft of 6 other ranks joined the Battn for duty.
