| Entry | The whole Battn marched to the Div Training Area and practised the capture of two objectives, a front line with its immediate support trenches and a second line. Specialists were given special duties: the snipers to rush out just previous to the assault and fire upon enemy machine guns and snipers, the bombers to push on down CTs and establish blocks, the signallers to establish telephone communication with the position when captured etc. The men were in fighting order and carried tools for the consolidation of the objective. The scheme was carried out twice and the Battn then marched back to Camp. 2nd Lieut S F G Jones joined the Battn for duty from the GHQ Cadet School. |
