War Diary

1916-12-07
Regiment 1st Wiltshire
Location Belgium, Le Bizet
Entry During this time [8 - 12th Dec] the Battn remained in Brigade Support, providing garrisons for the Supporting Points and having just over two companies in LE BIZET. A certain amount of training was possible: the Cpls and L/Cpls paraded under the RSM for instruction: classes for Lewis Gun Instruction and Bayonet Fighting were also held. There was an allotment of baths each day for the Battn and a few fatigue parties were required for work. On the 11th reinforcements, 114 other ranks joined the Battn for duty, consisting of a fair proportion of casuals, the majority of the men, however, had not been out before.
