Regiment | 1st Wiltshire |
---|---|
Location | Belgium, Le Touquet Sector |
Entry | In the trenches. Enemy artillery was active in the afternoon when several shrapnel shells fell round RUTTER LODGE on the extreme left of the Battn Sector: other shrapnel burst over No Man's Land nearer the enemy's line than ours, this leading to the supposition that he was ranging on No Man's Land. Our snipers were active: their claim for the day was - 2 enemy snipers hit, I enemy sniper silenced, 2 periscopes smashed. There was the usual patrolling at night, but the enemy appeared to be quiet inactive in this respect. 2nd Lieut W W Awdrey of B Coy was accidentally wounded while cleaning a revolver. Weather fine. |
