War Diary

1916-11-02
Regiment 1st Wiltshire
Location France, Pont de Nieppe
Entry (2nd - 6th) During this period the Battn remained in Brigade Reserve. There was practise in live bomb throwing for selected men from the coys, and the Lewis Gunners paraded for instruction under 2nd Lieut Smith who was appointed Battn Lewis Gun Officer. Fatigue parties were required for work in the Brigade forward area during the greater part of the day, and this work took about half the Battn, with the result that Lieut McDonnell, (5th Wilts Regt) joined the Battn for duty on the 4th. The weather throughout was mild and unsettled.
