Entry The trenches. The Regt was relieved in the front line by unit of the 74th Inf Brigade and withdrew, except B Coy, to CONSTANCE & FITZPATRICK trenches. Battn HQ remained at R.28.C.7.3. B Coy remained in a trench just behind front line. They were supporting the 74th Brigade who were timed to attack REGINA trench at 12.6p.m. The attack was carried out in accordance with attached operation orders, and was quite successful. The trench was gained and rapidly consolidated and the German prisoners which passed through 74th Brigade HQ numbered about 400. C Coy in FITZPATRICK trench was ordered about 1 and a half hours after the attack was made to hold HESSIAN trench from which the attacking units started off. A Coy supplied an escort of 25men & 1 NCO to take German prisoners back The remainder of A Coy and D Coy went the rest of the day & night carrying bombs, SAA, water, rum, etc up to the front line. The weather gad remained fine and the ground considerably less sticky and muddy than on the previous days.
