Location France, S of Thiepval
Entry Support trenches. An attack on STUFF REDOUBT was carried out by the 10th Cheshire Regt in accordance with the operation orders dated October 7th. The attack was in every way successful, the objectives were gained and blocks established N of points 18, 38 and 97. This Battn was in immediate support with our Coy and ZOLLERN trench in midway line. One Coy near Battn HQ R.27.Central trench was called upon to go to the redoubt and HESSIAN trench, this Coy was detailed to hold Bombing Posts. B Coy was also called up to hold the line. C Coy replaced A Coy in ZOLLERN trench from Battn HQ and D Coy was used for carrying bombs etc. The Battn was relieved by the 8th LN Lancs Regt at about 2p.m.
