| Entry | The Battn stared the day by training. At about 10a.m. a message came from the brigade ordering the CO to proceed to 75th Brigade HQ at Blighty Valley. The Battn had to stand to ready to move off at a moments notice. During the afternoon a message arrived which cancelled the orders of the former message. An official photographer arrived, but owing to the dull and wet weather no photograph could be taken. The CO returned from 75th Brigade HQ after tea, carrying with him the news the this Battn with the Worcesters were required to assist the 75th Brigade in their operations which were to start at dawn on August 31st. The Battn was to proceed to CRUCIFIX CORNER on the following afternoon. |
