Entry | Shelling continued on both sides. The consolidation of our trenches was completed. The two Coys of 8th LN Lancs Regt at our disposal, relieved two of our Coys, which returned and held the old front line. It was decided to make an attack on the extreme left of our line at 6p.m. and to take the trenches which could not be taken on 24th inst. The enemy himself had intended a counter attack at that time and owing to the barrage put on our trenches our men were unable to reach assaulting point in time.
