| Entry | A full kit inspection of all companies in battle order was made by the CO. Church Parade by Rev L Dickenson was held at 11.30a.m. Battn at 1 hours notice. At 3.15p.m. orders were received to proceed to HEDEAUVILLE. The Battn moved off at 4.10p.m. and marched to bivouacs outside the village. At 7p.m. orders were received for Battn to proceed to bivouacs in AVELUY Wood via BOUZINCOURT. At this juncture the B team (those officers, NCOs, and men not taking part in the first assault) left the Battn and joined the Divisional Train at VADENCOURT.A team spent the night in the Assembly Trenches in the wood. |
