Entry In the trenches. On the night of the 28/29th a patrol went out from the right company to within 15 yards of the hostile post on Albany Crater and threw bombs into it: The same was repeated half an hour later, the enemy replying with oyster shaped bombs. At intervals between 6.15a.m. and 9a.m. the enemy fired trench mortars and howitzer shells at the top of Grange CT and considerable damage was done. The snipers claimed two Germans. Work done: further wiring by night: the P line at the junction of P73/74 was widened and deepened: a trench was completed connecting No 2 Albany post and the advanced post on the lip of crater.
