Entry In the trenches. The enemy's attitude was normal. In the morning his aerial torpedo fire upon the right company was silenced by Stokes guns. His sniping was far less brisk while the Battn and Coy snipers between them claimed to have hit five of the enemy, one of whom was believed to be an officer. Work consisted of repairing the damage done by hostile trench mortars in the centre company and at the top of Grange CT. The parapet of the retrenchment in front of P75 was strengthened and the erection of rabbit wire screens in front of the Birkin posts was continued. There were two casualties:- Wounded. Sgt Evans, E G. Cpl Horsley, H of B Coy. It was also reported from the 175th Tunnelling Coy, R E that Pte Herbert, C, D Coy, attached to that Coy had been wounded. The night was quiet and further wiring was done.
