Entry Enemy's attitude was quiet. During the day there was registering with Stokes gun and rifle grenades on a new enemy trench which had been dug connecting their lips of the Birkin and Common Crater. Work was continued on the firesteps and parapet of the P line duck walks were taken up and cleaned. Another bombing attack which was made by the enemy on the Common crater at about 8.45p.m. was driven back. C Coy suffered four casualties, wounded, Cpl Weston, L/Cpl Lewis, Ptes Crook and Bell. Weather very fine.
