Entry | Enemy's attitude quiet, one German was sniped and by the use of armour piercing ammunition the enemy was compelled to leave his loophole plates. At 7.46p.m. the enemy sprang a mine N of the Albany CT Crater. As warning was received earlier in the day of the likelihood of a mine going up at that point the posts concerned were withdrawn a quarter of an hour earlier and not restored until the near lip had been consolidated. The only casualties were three men bruised. That night the Battn was relieved by the 8th L N Lancs and went back into Brigade reserve in the PYLONES line and in dugouts by the BETHUNE - ARRAS road. The relief passed off without a casualty. Total casualties during tour, 10 killed, 1 officer 11 other ranks. Wounded 1 officer and 25 other ranks. |
