Entry Enemy quiet but sniping was brisk and accurate. Hostile working parties were fired on with Lewis rifles and rifle grenades and it is believed that many casualties were caused. Snipers claimed two of the enemy. Loophole plates were fixed on the near lips of Grange and Birkin Craters. There were two casualties. Cpl Wilkins was sniped in head and Pte Hulbert suffered from shock.
