Regiment | 1st Wiltshire |
---|---|
Location | France, La Targette |
Entry | Mine fatigues. Weather much finer. At midnight the French fired two mines in the right Sector. They were ill-timed but the effect was to break in the enemy's galleries and destroy one of their listening posts. The second object to capture a prisoner could not be attained as the raiding party was bombed out of the enemy trench. The rear lip of the crater was consolidated. The casualties among the Sherwood Foresters consisted of one officer killed and several other ranks wounded. |
